Presentation to the Lord and Home Sweet Home
We always choose Mt Alvernia to deliver our babies as it is a catholic hospital and the nurses there are all very caring and friendly. During our stay there, the sisters will visit us in the morning to pray with us and to give us holy communion. The best part of all, just before we leave the hospital, the sister will present our baby to The Lord just like how Mother Mary presented baby Jesus in the temple.

Day 2 at the Hospital
I had a good night's sleep the previous night. Emily was sent over for three times by the nurse for nursing. she was able to nurse very well.
Li Nah came over to visit is despite her busy schedule and we had a great time chatting for a while.
In the evening, Damon's parents, grandmother and brother came to visit. Shortly after, John and Joan came too. We took some photos and we realised how our families have grown in size over the years. :)
(Isaiah's not in the picture as he had gone home with my parents.)

Day 1 at the Hospital
Damon and I just felt it was so unbelievable and surreal that baby Emily has arrived. We just loved her new born look and smell. Love her to bits.
Clare and Isaiah came to visit Emily in the afternoon. They were so excited to see the baby. Clare kept wanting to carry her and Isaiah kept saying "I want Mei Mei." My parents and my brother were very delighted to see Emily too. :)
I hope that the three of them will grow up loving one another and be one another's companion.
As like Isaiah's time, Clare was all teary when it was time for her to go home. She cried badly when she realised she could not stay with me. As I was in a double room that day, I had no choice but to be very firm with her and said she had to go. It broke my heart to see her cry so badly.
According to my mother and Damon, she cried very badly for me before she went to bed that night.

Bb Emily is Born!
Bb Emily has finally arrived on 4 Dec 2012. 😊
We had expected to have a super fast labour with Emily. Clare and Isaiah's labour took less than 3 hours from the first sign of labour. For Clare, I experienced contractions and for Isaiah, my water bag burst. So my gynae, Damon and myself were very worried that I may not be aw to get to the hospital on time for delivery. So Dr Ong told us to get all our plans ready, and Damon and I really got plan A, plan B. plan C etc. all thought out.
However, our dear Emily had other plans. On the midnight of 4 December, I started to have contractions pains and Damon and I decided to time them. They were about 8 minutes apart. We thought that we better rush down to the hospital, given my history. We gave my parents a call for them to come over, we grabbed the hospital bag and went to the hospital.
When we reached the hospital, I can feel the pain getting a little less intense. The nurse checked me at the delivery suite and found that I was only 2cm dilated . I changed into the hospital gown and was strapped onto a machine to monitor baby's heartbeat and my contractions.
After an hour or so, to our surprise, there was no progress to my contractions. They were still 8 minutes apart. We felt bewildered, wondering what was happening?
Then the nurse came to unstrap me, and told me to rest and that Dr Ong would see me in the morning.
The next morning, Dr Ong came and he was also surprised at my slow progress. He asked if I wanted to be put on drip to fasten the dilation as I was still just 2 to 3cm dilated. I agreed and I was put on the drip at 9am.
However, the drip didn't work initially. My contractions were still 10 minutes apart. The nurse was also surprised and she kept increasing the dosage.
Finally, at 12 plus, the gaps between my contractions were getting shorter to 5 minutes and then to 3 minutes. During this time, Dr Ong came to deliver two babies of his other 2 patients. I think I heard a total of 4 to 5 babies wailing during my wait and I felt so demoralized.
The nurse came to check my dilation at 12 plus and she said, to my dismay, that I was still only 3cm dilated. Suddenly, less than an hour later, I suddenly felt very intense contractions and the urge to push.
I screamed for Damon to get the midwife and she immediately got the nurse to call Dr Ong.
The midwife was a very motherly woman and she reassured me that everything was alright and that she would deliver the baby for me if Dr Ong could not get there in time. Within minutes, Dr Ong arrived and before he could put on his gown properly, Emily is out!

Gynae visit at 38 weeks 5 days
I went to visit my gynae, Dr Ong, today. Bb Emily was estimated to be 2.9kg last Monday and both Damon and I and Dr Ong felt at that time that labour was approaching as Clare was born at 3.1kg whereas Isaiah at 3.0kg. However, Bb Emily thought otherwise. She stays contentedly in my womb til today. :)
She is estimated to be 3.2kg today at 38 weeks and 5 days. I must have appeared impatient waiting for her birth as Dr Ong asked if I wanted to be induced for her birth. We then decided that we would let Emily decide when she would want to meet us although there is a risk that she might grow too big for an easy delivery.
We are praying hard now that she would come soon and that we will have a safe and smooth delivery. Amen!

Isaiah's Toilet Training
Isaiah is supposed to start his toilet training in June and I never got down to doing it. Recently, I saw a forum seller selling Thomas the Train urinal and I bought it for him.
The urinal arrived yesterday and we got it fixed last evening. He managed to successfully pee into the urinal once and had an accident during the short evening.
I hope that Isaiah will be able to go diaper less very soon. :)

Clare's Piano Concert Performance 2012
Clare has been attending Music classes at Mandeville Music Studio since she was two years old. She started off with Baby Music classes then proceeded to Baby Graduate classes. After her Baby Graduate classes, we have to decide if she wants to take up individual piano lessons or violin lessons. We decided to let her try out piano lessons in the end since we have a piano at home and as I used to play the piano, I would be more able to coach her. Since the middle of last year when Clare was 4 plus, she started individual piano lessons with Ms Joey Loh.
Ms Loh was Clare's music teacher since Baby Music classes. She is a very patient and yet firm teacher who is able to sustain Clare's interest in piano playing even though it involves lots of practices. Clare never misses any of her lessons unless she is really sick. I remember there was once when she was having a very bad tummy ache on her way to Music class but she insisted on going for Ms Loh's class.
I am very thankful that Clare has her as her piano teacher and Isaiah has also just started Baby Music classes with Ms Loh recently. I hope Isaiah will have the same interest in Music too under Ms Loh's guidance.
